# Steam, Reddit & YouTube

Track Steam reviews, subreddits and YouTube. Each one only needs a link or a few keywords.

These platforms don't need any special access. Just tell Eirin where to look, on the **Sources** step while hiring or on the **Sources** tab of the agent's profile. Eirin reads and analyses them today. Replies on these platforms are planned.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Steam" %}
**To start tracking:** under **Game stores**, switch on **Steam** and paste your game's store link, for example `https://store.steampowered.com/app/XXXXX`. Once Eirin recognises it, the game's name and studio appear under the row.

**What Eirin reads:** game reviews from around the world, every 6 hours.

**What's special about Steam:** each review shows hours played, how the game was bought, and whether it was written during Early Access. This tells you how much time a reviewer has put in, and lets you compare Early Access reviews with reviews after launch. Steam uses thumbs up or down instead of stars.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Reddit" %}
**To start tracking:** under **Community**, switch on **Reddit** and paste your subreddit link, for example `https://reddit.com/r/yourgame`.

![Reddit and YouTube switched on in the Sources step](https://592420414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGQPBrXn3FlQhSCpExATE%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-83a7ccf50b1f481ae373db2d1f3908414adb800d%2F20_Set-up-Eirin_step3_sources-community.png?alt=media)

**What Eirin reads:** posts and full comment threads, every 6 hours.

**What's special about Reddit:** Eirin sees how comments reply to each other, so it can follow how a conversation develops. Post flair (for example "Bug Report" or "Feedback") lets Eirin group posts by topic.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="YouTube" %}
**To start tracking:** under **Community**, switch on **YouTube**. Under **Public coverage**, enter keywords (for example "Clash of Clans review") and, if you want, channel links such as `https://youtube.com/@ChannelName`, separated by commas. Eirin finds what creators and players post about your game on YouTube. It only uses public data.

**What Eirin reads:** videos and their comments, from channel feeds and YouTube search.

**What's special about YouTube:** Eirin reads full video transcripts, so it knows what creators say in their videos. A relevance check removes videos that aren't about your game before analysis.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://eirin-ai.gitbook.io/eirin-ai-docs/connect-your-sources/steam-reddit-and-youtube.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
