# Set up Eirin

Create your account, then hire your community manager in five wizard steps: Identity, Sources, Playbook, Reporting and Review.

Setup takes about 15 minutes. Here's the whole journey at a glance:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Create your account

1. Visit <https://app.lysto.gg/eirin>.
2. Click **Continue with Google** and sign in with your **work** Google account.
3. You land on your studio's home page.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Use the manager's work email.** Your studio is keyed to your email domain, so the first person to sign in from a domain creates the studio and becomes its owner. Personal addresses such as Gmail or Yahoo are not accepted. Only instructions from the manager's address are executed, so sign in with the account you will use to run Eirin.
{% endhint %}

![The sign-in page: Google Workspace accounts only](https://592420414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGQPBrXn3FlQhSCpExATE%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-83fa890b55302249457cd039824e346dd7ef6cb6%2F17_Set-up-Eirin_step1_sign-in-page.png?alt=media)
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Start hiring

On the home page, click **Hire a CM** in the **Add another** card, or click **+ Add** under **Your team** in the sidebar. A brand-new studio shows a single hire button instead of a team roster.

![The home page: your team, with an Add another card](https://592420414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGQPBrXn3FlQhSCpExATE%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-d8952187ef746cbb6ca0e82b199fbb8788fffcaa%2F24_Home_your-team.png?alt=media)
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Identity

The wizard opens on **Who is your new teammate?**

1. Type a name for your community manager in **Name your agent**, for example "Eirin", "Nova" or "Sam".
2. Click **Next: Sources**.

Naming activates the agent and opens its web chat. No other setup is needed for chat.

![The Identity step: name your agent](https://592420414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGQPBrXn3FlQhSCpExATE%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-d05b7d6c5a0085e8061f056169e0ba6f75b4e21d%2F18_Set-up-Eirin_step2_identity.png?alt=media)
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Sources

**Where does your agent listen?** Turn on the places it should watch. You need at least one source to continue.

**Game stores.** Switch on the store your game is published on and paste the link. The link sets which game this agent covers, so pick one that no other teammate already covers. The store link **cannot be changed after onboarding**.

| Store             | Link format                                           |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| Google Play Store | `https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=XXXXX` |
| App Store         | `https://apps.apple.com/app/XXXXX`                    |
| Steam             | `https://store.steampowered.com/app/XXXXX`            |

Once the link is recognised, the game's name and studio appear under the store, as in the example below.

![The Sources step: a Steam link recognised as Hades](https://592420414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGQPBrXn3FlQhSCpExATE%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-40700c4d610ae6d2cadf2522d2a9f53df7b1908c%2F19_Set-up-Eirin_step3_sources-stores.png?alt=media)

**Community** (optional). Public places where players discuss the game:

| Source            | What you provide                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 |
| ----------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Reddit**        | Your subreddit link, e.g. `https://reddit.com/r/yourgame`                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        |
| **Discord** | Click **Connect Discord** to install the Lysto bot. You pick the server and channels on Discord. |
| **YouTube** | Keywords or channel URLs. Eirin finds public coverage of your game across YouTube. |
| **Instagram** | Shown when enabled for your studio. Authorise your account after hiring, from the agent's Sources tab. |
| **Support Email** | In its own **Support** section, shown when enabled for your studio. Click **Connect Support Email** and sign in to your support mailbox with Google. No address to type. Agents can share one address; each answers only the mail about its own game. See [Support email](/eirin-ai-docs/connect-your-sources/support-email.md). |

![The Sources step: Reddit, Discord and YouTube switched on](https://592420414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGQPBrXn3FlQhSCpExATE%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-83a7ccf50b1f481ae373db2d1f3908414adb800d%2F20_Set-up-Eirin_step3_sources-community.png?alt=media)

{% hint style="info" %}
If the Discord row says **Save the agent, then connect Discord from its settings**, finish hiring first and connect Discord from the agent's **Sources** tab. Otherwise click **Connect Discord** here.
{% endhint %}

Step-by-step guides for each platform are in [Connect your sources](/eirin-ai-docs/connect-your-sources/sources-overview.md). Click **Next: Playbook** when done.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Playbook

**Brief your agent like a new hire.** The playbook has two lists:

* **Guardrails for how Eirin replies.** Hard limits enforced on every reply. Eight rules are filled in for you, including "Never publicly respond to users without human approval" and "Never promise fixes, dates, or compensation". The first two are marked **Default** and cannot be removed. Remove any other rule with **×**, or type your own and click **+ Add**.
* **Guardrails for how Eirin generates reports.** Topics to leave out of reports. Anything a rule covers is filtered from the report entirely.

Click **Next: Reporting**.

![The Playbook step: reply guardrails, with defaults filled in](https://592420414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGQPBrXn3FlQhSCpExATE%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-8ce9399f98402950d050e0f0f407b0d699f8258f%2F21_Set-up-Eirin_step4_playbook.png?alt=media)
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Reporting

**How does your agent report back?**

**Schedule reports.** Pick a **Frequency** (Daily, Weekly, Bi-weekly or Monthly), a **Time** and a **Timezone**. You can change this any time after hiring.

**Connect with channels.**

| Channel        | What to do                                                                                                                                                       |
| -------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Webchat** | Already active. A chat window on your agent's workspace page. |
| **Work email** | Optional. Type an address in your company domain, e.g. `eirin@yourstudio.com`. Gmail and Slack connect through this address, and it **cannot be changed later**. |
| **Gmail** | Click **Connect Gmail** to link the agent's dedicated inbox. No emails are sent or changed without approval. |
| **Slack** | Click **Connect Slack** to send follow-ups and channel summaries to your workspace. |

This setup is optional. Until you connect a channel, reports go to the manager's own email on the schedule above. See [Chat, email and Slack](/eirin-ai-docs/working-with-eirin/chat-email-and-slack.md) for the full Slack steps.

Click **Next: Review**.

![The Reporting step: schedule and channels](https://592420414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGQPBrXn3FlQhSCpExATE%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-817171d19136a24de31be6278c4ab2de2fee89f0%2F22_Set-up-Eirin_step5_reporting.png?alt=media)
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Review and hire

**Your agent, at a glance** summarises the offer: channels, what it reads, what it can act on, and the agreement (its reply guardrails). New agents start read-only: they draft replies but post nothing until you set up store replies.

Click **Hire {name}**. A confirmation tells you the agent is live and offers to take you to reply setup.

![The Review step: the summary before hiring](https://592420414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FGQPBrXn3FlQhSCpExATE%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-58a500b97ee959a358567c3ab7a0375dcf07323a%2F23_Set-up-Eirin_step6_review.png?alt=media)

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Clicking **Exit** during the wizard asks **Leave without saving?** Choose **Leave and discard** to abandon the hire, or close the dialog to keep going.
{% endhint %}

# Agent Instructions
This documentation is published with GitBook. GitBook is the documentation platform designed so that both humans and AI agents can read, navigate, and reason over technical content effectively. Learn more at gitbook.com.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://eirin-ai.gitbook.io/eirin-ai-docs/getting-started/set-up-eirin.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
